Kosho is a fictional martial art practiced in the Village in the 1967 British television series The Prisoner. The game involves two trampolinist combatants, who attempt to knock one another into a four-by-eight foot tank of water. It made its first appearance in the tenth episode, "Hammer into Anvil", and went on to feature prominently in the subsequent episode, "It's Your Funeral."
Rules[]
In Kosho, the two fighters are dressed in red long-sleeved nightgowns and boxing boots. They wear a white gauntlet on their right hand and a boxing glove on their left. Their heads are protected by American football helmets of different colors to differentiate between the fighters. Each man stands on a trampoline with a trough of water between them. The object of the game is for one man to try and knock the other off his trampoline into the water. They are allowed to grab each other using their gauntleted hand and punch and strike with their boxing-gloved hand.
