No. 2 grasps the Hotline, as seen in "Hammer Into Anvil" (1967).
The Hotline or Hot-Line[1] was a red-coloured wireless telecommunications device which directly connected the Village's chief administrator, Number 2, with his or her unseen superiors in the 1967-68 television series, The Prisoner.[2] The device featured a uniquely curved design and, like other similar administrative telephones in the Village, functioned by simply lifting the device to one's ear. The Hotline appears to have been the facility's only method of communication with the outside world.
