Fenella Fielding (17 November 1927 – 11 September 2018) was a British actress who lent her distinctive voice to the Village announcer and telephone operator in the 1967-68 television series, The Prisoner. She began her acting career in the 1950s, appearing in a variety of films and TV shows, including "Carry On Regardless" and "The Avengers". She also worked extensively in theatre, appearing in productions of classic plays such as "The Importance of Being Earnest" and "Hamlet".
